School districts in North Texas, including Dallas and Tarrant County, are gearing up for the return of students to the classroom. Two major events, the Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair and the Tarrant County Back to School Roundup, are being held to assist families in preparing for the upcoming school year.
The Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair, now in its 28th year, is a collaborative effort between the city of Dallas, Dallas ISD, and various nonprofits, corporations, and community volunteers. Thousands of families will receive free school supplies, haircuts, immunizations, and other services at this event. More than 100 vendors will be on hand to provide resources and support for families attending. The goal of the fair is to ensure that every student has what they need to start the school year off on the right foot, without any barriers or lack of access to supplies.
In Fort Worth, the Tarrant County Back to School Roundup is also providing free school supplies and services to help students prepare for the year. This event, held on the Tarrant County College South Campus, is a one-stop shop for families to get everything they need for the upcoming school year. Registration is required for early access, but supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who did not pre-register. Both events aim to generate enthusiasm among parents and students as they prepare to return to school.
