Irving crashes cause traffic congestion on route to Dallas, according to officials – WFAA.com

Two separate crashes on Interstate 635 eastbound caused heavy traffic and delays for commuters heading into Dallas from Irving, according to officials. The first crash occurred near MacArthur Boulevard and involved multiple vehicles, leading to lane closures and significant backups. Emergency responders were on scene attending to those involved in the crash.

Shortly after the first crash, a second crash was reported further down the highway near Belt Line Road. This crash also involved multiple vehicles and caused additional lane closures, further exacerbating the traffic congestion in the area. The Irving Police Department advised commuters to seek alternate routes or expect delays while the crashes were being cleared.

As a result of the crashes, traffic on Interstate 635 eastbound was at a standstill for hours, with some drivers reporting being stuck in the gridlock for over an hour. The Texas Department of Transportation urged drivers to exercise caution and patience while navigating the congested roads.

The crashes serve as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and awareness on the road, especially during peak traffic hours. Officials emphasized the need for drivers to remain attentive and focused on the road to prevent accidents and keep themselves and others safe.

Both crashes were eventually cleared, and traffic began to flow more smoothly on Interstate 635 eastbound. No serious injuries were reported in either incident, but the delays caused frustration for many commuters trying to reach their destinations in Dallas. The Irving Police Department continues to investigate the causes of the crashes.
