Sha’Carri Richardson, a track star from Dallas, won her first-ever race at the Olympics on Friday with a time of 10.94 seconds in the 100m qualifying race. She will now move on to the semifinals and has the opportunity to go for gold. Richardson missed the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana at the trials four years ago, but she has since won a gold medal at the World Championships. The 24-year-old athlete, who ran track at David W. Carter High School, is favored to win gold in Paris. John Kincade Stadium even named their track after her last November. Richardson’s upcoming races at the 2024 Paris Olympics include the Women’s 100m Semifinal and Final on Saturday, the Women’s 4x100m Relay Round 1 on Thursday, and the Women’s 4x100m Relay Final on Friday. Fans and supporters are eagerly anticipating her performance as she continues to showcase her talent on the global stage.
