A Fort Worth police officer was hit by a car while trying to block traffic following a fiery crash on Interstate 35W at Sycamore School Road. The initial crash involved an 18-wheeler that hit a wall and caught on fire around 2:30 a.m. The driver of the 18-wheeler escaped with minor injuries. The interstate and service roads were closed for several hours due to the cleanup efforts. The officer was struck by a vehicle that drove through the area at 5:30 a.m., and the driver fled the scene. The injured officer was taken to JPS Hospital, and their condition is unknown. FOX 4 News will provide updates on this developing story.
