Former President Donald Trump will be interviewed by Elon Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, on Monday night. Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) and founder of SpaceX and Tesla, made the announcement on X, stating that the interview will be unscripted with no limits on subject matter. This comes as Trump is seeking reelection against Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.
The interview will take place on Monday, August 12 at 8 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on X, hosted on Trump’s account. Musk has asked for questions and comments from the audience in preparation for the interview. This event comes after a rocky campaign announcement by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on X, where technical difficulties prolonged the start of the event.
While Musk has not mentioned any plans to interview Harris on X, he has reinstated Trump’s account on the platform after banning it in 2021. However, Trump now primarily shares news on his own platform, Truth Social. Musk has assured that he will conduct system scaling tests to avoid any technical issues during the upcoming interview with Trump.
