School is back in session for hundreds of thousands of students in North Texas, including those in Dallas and Fort Worth. Dallas ISD, along with 31 other local school districts, started their school year on Monday. With 140,000 students and 10,000 teachers, Dallas ISD has also welcomed 650 new teachers for the year. Other districts starting on Monday include Carrollton-Farmers Branch, Cedar Hill, Eagle Mountain Saginaw, Frisco, Garland, Irving, and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISDs. Twenty-nine more districts are set to begin on Tuesday, including Fort Worth, Plano, Richardson, Carroll, Crowley, Duncanville, Granbury, Grand Prairie, Lewisville, and Prosper.
To celebrate the start of the new school year, Good Day is encouraging parents and students to share their first day of school photos on fox4news.com/ready4school. The photos should include the name and city of the student, and some of the favorites will be shared on TV. As students head back to the classroom, it’s important to remember to stay safe and make the most of the new school year ahead.
