Oasis fans faced long waits and disappointment as online ticket platforms struggled to handle the demand for the band’s upcoming reunion tour. The Britpop-era favorites, led by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, are set to play 17 shows in the UK and Ireland starting in July next year. Tickets went on sale for about $100, but many fans encountered errors and long queues while trying to purchase them.
Some lucky fans managed to secure tickets through a presale lottery, while others resorted to buying tickets at exorbitant prices from resale websites. Oasis issued a warning against purchasing tickets from unauthorized sites, stating that these tickets may be counterfeit or canceled.
The reunion tour is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the hospitality sector in the host cities, with fans spending money on merchandise, travel, hotels, and dining. Despite plans to expand the tour to other continents, fans from around the world are expected to flock to the UK to see Oasis perform live.
Formed in Manchester in 1991, Oasis was one of the most successful British bands of the 1990s, known for hits like Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger. The band split in 2009 after a falling out between the Gallagher brothers, but the upcoming reunion promises to bring back the spark and intensity that fans have longed for. Oasis fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see the iconic band back together on stage after 15 years.
