Both campaigns are emphasizing the importance of the economy, with Harris highlighting support from labor unions and plans for tax credits and price-fixing measures. Trump is emphasizing trade protectionism and attacking Harris’s record on fracking and inflation.
In terms of campaign resources, Harris has a strong war chest, with $540 million, and early investments in staff and offices across battleground states. The Trump campaign also has a significant presence in battleground states, with hundreds of paid staffers and GOP offices. However, Trump’s get-out-the-vote operation is being handled by outside conservative groups, which may present challenges in coordination.
The swing states in 2024, including Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, are crucial for both campaigns’ pathways to victory. Polls show tight contests in these states, making voter persuasion and turnout operations critical for both candidates. Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, is viewed as essential for victory, and both campaigns are intensively focusing their efforts on this key battleground state.
