Seagoville police arrest Arkansas fugitive who shot at officer

Seagoville, Texas – A wanted fugitive from Arkansas, 37-year-old Chaderious Avery, was captured in Seagoville after being on the run for nearly a year. Avery was wanted for shooting at a Pine Bluff police officer. Seagoville police officer noticed two vehicles parked at a closed pool in the middle of the night, leading to the discovery of Avery in one of the cars. Avery was cooperative and revealed his true identity, leading to his arrest. He is now awaiting extradition back to Arkansas at the Dallas County jail.

The incident occurred in October 2023 when Avery opened fire on a female police officer in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. While the officer was not hit by any bullets, she was injured by glass shards. Avery was also found to have violated parole for a prior charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Seagoville Officer Sam Click commended the arrest, stating that it is a relief to have Avery off the streets. Despite the lack of weapons on Avery at the time of his arrest, police are not aware of any ties he had to North Texas. The arrest was made possible by the vigilance of the Seagoville police officer who investigated the group of people parked at the closed pool and quickly identified the wanted fugitive in their midst.

The Seagoville Police Department and the Pine Bluff Police Department provided information for this brief on the successful capture of the Arkansas fugitive in Seagoville.
