Former Vice President Mike Pence, who previously served under President Donald Trump and ran an unsuccessful bid for the Republican presidential nomination, has taken on a new job as a political science teacher at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He joined the college’s President, Paul J. McNulty, in the classroom for his first lecture, and plans to continue teaching either in person or through videoconferencing depending on his schedule.
Pence expressed excitement about his new role, stating that he has immense respect for the college’s mission and the opportunity to teach future Christian leaders. Grove City College, a Christian private liberal arts institution with 2,400 students, does not accept federal funding. Pence was recently named the first Distinguished Fellow for Faith and Public Life at the college’s Center for Faith & Public Life.
Despite his past political career and recent differences with former President Trump, Pence was warmly welcomed by students during his first visit to campus. Pence reflected on his wife’s advice and asked for patience as he transitioned into his new teaching role. He emphasized his gratitude for the opportunity to work with young men and women who he believes will become influential leaders in the country in the future.
Pence’s tenure as a teacher at Grove City College marks a new chapter in his post-political career and showcases his dedication to shaping the next generation of leaders.
