Authorities in Kentucky are currently on the lookout for a suspect who is believed to have shot at vehicles traveling along a rural section of the I-75 highway. The incident occurred near London, with as many as seven people reported injured. The shooter, identified as 32-year-old Joseph Couch, is considered armed and dangerous, and authorities are advising the public not to approach him.
The shooting resulted in the temporary closure of Interstate 75, a major highway that spans across the eastern half of the United States. Reports indicate that the shots were fired from either a wooded area or an overpass near the highway. Multiple individuals sustained severe injuries, but thankfully, there have been no confirmed fatalities.
This incident comes in the wake of a recent school shooting in Georgia, where two students and two teachers lost their lives. A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with the attack, and his father, who allegedly purchased the gun used in the shooting, is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and second-degree murder.
Gun violence remains a prevalent issue in the United States, a country where firearms outnumber the population. Authorities are actively pursuing the suspect in the Kentucky shooting and are urging the public to report any information that may lead to his apprehension.
