Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, denounced a racist online post about Vice President Kamala Harris made by a Trump surrogate and far-right media figure, Laura Loomer. Greene called the post “appalling and extremely racist” and stated that it does not represent Republicans, MAGA, or President Trump. She called on Loomer to take the post down and emphasized that such behavior should not be tolerated. Greene has been known for making inflammatory remarks in the past, including a controversial comment about Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s fake eyelashes that was criticized as racist. She also previously tried to oust Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson over a foreign aid package for Ukraine. In 2022, Greene spoke before a group of white nationalists who support Russian President Vladimir Putin, which drew criticism from the leader of the Republican National Committee. Greene defended her appearance by stating that she focused on “God and Liberty” and did not engage in any guilt by association. Despite her controversial actions, Greene has also spoken out against racism in politics and stood up against racist behavior within the Republican party.
