Images of Asian victim released by prosecutors

Officials in New York released new information about an unidentified homicide victim known as “Asian Doe,” whose skeletal remains were found along a highway on Long Island in 2011 near the site of the Gilgo Beach serial killings. The victim, determined to be a biological male of Asian descent between 17 and 23 years old, was wearing women’s clothing at the time of death. New forensic images show the victim as both male and female.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify the victim, who may have been a sex worker and of Southern Chinese descent. The victim suffered a violent death by blunt force trauma, and their remains were on Ocean Parkway for at least five years before discovery. No one has been charged in connection with the murder.

The Gilgo Beach serial killings occurred from the early 1990s to 2011, with most of the victims identified as sex workers. Rex Heuermann, a former New York architect, has been charged in the slayings of six women tied to the case, including Megan Waterman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Costello, Jessica Taylor, and Sandra Costilla. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all charges.Officials are urging anyone with information about “Asian Doe” to come forward to help bring closure to the victim’s family and solve this case.
