IndyCar will be returning to Texas in March of 2026 with the IndyCar Arlington Grand Prix, set to take place on a 2.73-mile circuit that will weave around AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field in Arlington’s sports and entertainment district. The event is a result of a joint venture between the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers’ official events partner.
The announcement was made by IndyCar owner Roger Penske, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Rangers COO Neil Leibman, and various racing personalities including Josef Newgarden and Pudge Rodriguez. The event aims to create a unique, global spectacle for the city of Arlington.
The decision to hold the event in Arlington marks the end of IndyCar’s long-standing relationship with Texas Motor Speedway. The Texas track had been a loyal supporter of the series, but negotiations for the 2024 season fell through. Penske’s involvement in the Arlington Grand Prix signals that the relationship between IndyCar and Texas Motor Speedway is likely over.
The Arlington Grand Prix will be led by motorsports veteran Bill Miller, who has previous experience as president of California Speedway and senior vice president of operations at SEMA. The event is expected to bring excitement and economic benefits to the city of Arlington and further establish the area as a hub for motorsport enthusiasts.
