Angel Nunez, a former medical assistant, is facing charges for allegedly luring young boys into a medical room away from their parents at a pediatric clinic in Irving, Texas. Police have identified three victims, with Nunez charged in two cases of indecency with a child. Additional parents have come forward with concerns that their children may have been targeted by Nunez as well, but were able to intervene before any harm occurred.
The investigation into Nunez began after the pediatric clinic raised concerns to Child Protective Services about his behavior. Parents have reported that Nunez would take their children into separate rooms under the guise of needing a hernia exam or genitalia test, and then touch them inappropriately. Detectives have spoken to more parents who recall Nunez exhibiting suspicious behavior and attempting to separate their children from them during visits.
Irving police believe that parental intervention played a crucial role in preventing more children from falling victim to Nunez. With roughly 600 male patients seen by Nunez at various clinic locations, authorities fear that there may be more victims yet to come forward. Detective Andrew Padrutt emphasized the importance of parents being vigilant and accompanying their children during medical procedures, as it could prevent potential offenses from occurring.
As the investigation continues, more charges may be brought against Nunez if additional victims come forward. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to authorities. Fox 4’s David Sentendry has been following the case closely, with past news coverage contributing to the ongoing investigation.
