He currently resides in Austin with his wife, Camila Alves, and their three children. McConaughey praised the city for its creativity within a structured state and its acceptance of people for who they are.
In Austin, McConaughey noted that the rule is simply “Be You,” and he hopes to maintain that atmosphere in the city. He described Texas as a place with a good relationship with time, where each minute and mile truly feel like what they are.
