A cold front is expected to bring severe storms and strong winds to North Texas this week. The First Alert warnings begin on Tuesday with strong southerly winds gusting up to 40 mph, bringing in more moisture and increasing humidity and cloud cover. While a few spotty showers are possible, most areas will remain dry with temperatures remaining above normal in the mid-80s.
Another First Alert is in place for Wednesday as scattered showers are expected during the day, with a line of rain and storms arriving overnight as the cold front moves in. While widespread severe weather is not expected, isolated strong to severe storms with quarter-size hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible. Halloween will be cooler and breezy, with highs in the lower 70s and temperatures in the upper 60s for trick or treating.
The unsettled pattern continues into the weekend with more showers and storms expected, potentially disrupting any outdoor plans on Saturday and Sunday. Residents are advised to keep their rain gear handy. Meteorologist Brittany Rainey, who fell in love with weather at a young age in Florida, is providing updates on the weather conditions and alerts in North Texas. Stay safe and prepared as the severe weather approaches.
