The Texas Rangers are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred during a vehicle and foot chase in Lubbock County. The pursuit began when the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office chased a black Dodge Charger near U.S. Highway 84. The suspect abandoned the disabled vehicle and tried to escape on foot, displaying a weapon that led to officers shooting him. The suspect was taken to a hospital, and another person received non-life-threatening injuries from a K9. The deputy involved is on Administrative Leave with Pay. The incident is under investigation.
