The No. 11 Texas Women’s Tennis team secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over No. 19 NC State at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center. The Longhorns came from behind after dropping the doubles point to win the match. Senior Sabina Zeynalova and freshman Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo provided early singles wins for Texas, but NC State responded to take the lead. Freshman Carmen Herea and junior Vivian Ovrootsky sealed the victory for the Longhorns by winning their matches in the third set tiebreakers.

Ovrootsky’s match was particularly intense, featuring multiple tiebreaks and lead changes before she ultimately secured the win. Just before Ovrootsky’s victory, Herea also clinched a critical win to level the overall score. The Longhorns showed resilience and determination throughout the match, ultimately emerging victorious in a thrilling contest. With this win, Texas continues to build momentum and remains a force to be reckoned with in women’s collegiate tennis.
