Walmart recalls chicken broth, as reported by NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Walmart has issued a recall for its Great Value Family Size Chicken Broth, urging customers in mostly Southern states to throw out the product. The recall affects 48-ounce cartons sold at 242 stores in nine states, including Texas. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported the recall in December, citing packaging problems that could cause the broth to spoil. While there have been no reports of illnesses related to the product, Walmart is encouraging customers who purchased the broth in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Texas to seek a full refund. The recall impacts just over 2,000 cases of broth with a shelf life lasting until March 2026. Walmart is currently working with the supplier to investigate the issue. Customers are reassured that the company is taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of its products and is committed to providing full refunds for affected customers.
