$1 million scratch-off ticket sold in Colleyville, Texas, sparking excitement – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A lucky Colleyville resident recently claimed a $1 million prize in the Texas Lottery’s 500x scratch-off game. The winning ticket was purchased at Albertsons on Glade Road just before Christmas on Dec. 23, 2024. The winner, who decided to remain anonymous, will be falling into the highest federal tax bracket of 37%, resulting in them taking home $630,000 after paying $370,000 in federal taxes. Fortunately, Texas does not have a state tax on lottery winnings.

This is the third million-dollar prize claimed in the 500x scratch-off game, with previous winners coming from Corpus Christi and Laredo. Additionally, a Dallas player recently won $1 million playing $1,000,000 Crossword. The Texas Lottery’s biggest scratch-off game, $20 Million Supreme, offers four grand prizes of $20 million each, with three already claimed in Fort Worth, Boerne, and La Feria. One grand prize ticket remains unclaimed.

The Texas Lottery has been making dreams come true for lucky players across the state, with more opportunities for big wins available through various scratch-off games. As the excitement of winning continues to spread, more North Texans are trying their luck and hoping to hit the jackpot in future drawings.
