A group of seven men tragically lost their lives in a plane crash while returning from a hunting trip in Kansas. The men, all members of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters, were on their way to Maryland to reunite with their families when the accident occurred. The victims, including Michael Stovall, Charles McDaniel, Jonathan Boyd, Alex Huffman, Jesse Pitcher, Steve Johnson, and Tommy Clagett, were described as dedicated family men, skilled tradesmen, and respected members of their community.
Mikey Stovall, known for his volunteer work and coaching youth sports, had plans to go snowboarding with his son before the crash. Charles McDaniel and Alex Huffman were both long-standing members of the UA Steamfitters Local 602, with McDaniel being described as an incredible family member and Huffman’s laughter being remembered as contagious. Jonathan Boyd was a devoted father and mentor, while Jesse Pitcher was a newlywed and successful business owner. Steve Johnson, known for his love of fishing and generosity, was cherished in the southern Maryland community. Tommy Clagett, a dedicated “girl dad” and youth soccer coach, was described as respectful and thoughtful.
As the families and communities of these men mourn their loss, fundraisers have been set up to support the families left behind. Tributes to the victims have poured in from friends, family, and the Maryland fishing community, celebrating their lives and the joy and light they brought to those around them.
