Congressman labels Harris’s ’60 Minutes’ interview as the most significant scandal in the history of broadcasting

Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent “60 Minutes” interview, calling it one of the biggest news scandals in history. Former President Donald Trump’s campaign claimed that the interview was edited to make Harris appear more articulate, with one edit making her answers sound more concise. Trump and Nehls both condemned the alleged edit, with Trump calling it “the Greatest Fraud in Broadcast History” and demanding that CBS lose its license for election interference.

Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, also joined in the criticism, urging CBS to release the full, unedited interview with Harris to show the public what she actually said. Despite requests for comment, CBS did not respond to inquiries about complying with Vance’s request. Trump’s campaign declined an offer for him to speak with “60 Minutes,” with CBS citing “shifting explanations.”

This controversy comes after Trump’s own contentious interview with “60 Minutes” in 2020, where he clashed with correspondent Lesley Stahl over the accuracy of his statements. Trump abruptly ended the interview, stating, “That’s enough. Let’s go.” Vice President Mike Pence then took his place and defended Trump as someone who speaks his mind.
