Most people ‘approve’ of Trump’s presidency management

A recent poll conducted by CBS News/YouGov found that 53% of U.S. adults approve of President Donald Trump’s job performance, while 47% disapprove. The survey, which polled 2,175 adults, also revealed that 45% are paying a lot of attention to political news, and 49% believe Trump is doing more than expected in his first weeks in office. The majority of respondents described Trump as “tough” rather than “compassionate,” and 70% believe he is fulfilling the promises he made during his 2024 campaign.

When asked about specific focus areas, 49% felt Trump was focusing the right amount on helping states impacted by natural disasters. However, 66% thought he was focusing too little on lowering prices on goods and services, and 47% believed he was not focused enough on helping states impacted by natural disasters. Additionally, 43% said he was focusing too much on deporting immigrants in the country illegally.

Overall, the poll highlights a positive approval rating for Trump, with many respondents expressing satisfaction with his performance and belief that he is staying true to his campaign promises. However, there are differing opinions on where his focus should be in certain areas of policy and governance.
