Longhorn Nation had an incredible weekend with victories across various sports. The No. 4 Women’s Basketball team pulled off a monumental win against defending National Champs South Carolina. Men’s Tennis knocked off No. 1 TCU, Softball opened the season 6-0, Tommy Morrison won the individual title in Men’s Golf, and Moro Ojomo secured a Super Bowl Championship ring. Women’s Basketball beat South Carolina, ending their SEC win streak, improving to 24-2 for the season. Men’s Tennis and Women’s Tennis had successful outings at the ITA National Indoor Championships. Men’s Golf finished third at the Amer Ari Invitational with Tommy Morrison taking the individual title. Softball went 6-0 to start the season and will play at the Bevo Classic. Men’s Basketball will host SEC games against No. 2/1 Alabama and No. 15/18 Kentucky. Texas Track & Field had stellar performances at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Longhorns Cedric Benson, Todd Dodge, and Chris Plonsky will be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Roger Clemens and Murray Wall will be inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Mack Brown will receive the Davey O’Brien Legends Award. Additionally, 135 Longhorns earned a spot on the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll. It was a weekend of accomplishments and excitement for Longhorn supporters.
