Collin County man Joseph Baker has been sentenced to 60 years in prison without parole for sexually abusing two children. The 46-year-old man from Allen was found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child by jurors, leading to his harsh sentence. Prosecutors stated that Baker began abusing the first victim when they were just 7 years old, with the abuse continuing until the victim was 20. He then targeted another child who was 13 years old at the time, with the abuse lasting for about a year before the victim came forward. Both victims were interviewed by investigators to gather evidence for the case against Baker. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis stated that the county has a “zero tolerance for child predators” and commended the survivors for speaking out, investigators for pursuing justice, and the jury for holding the abuser accountable. With the judge’s sentence, Baker will spend the rest of his life behind bars. The information in this article comes from a news release from the Collin County District Attorney’s Office.
