Man from North Texas accused of sexually assaulting a child while awaiting trial for previous child sex charge

Eduardo Martinez, a 25-year-old man from Grand Prairie, Texas, is facing child sex charges for the second time while out on bond wearing an ankle monitor for a previous offense. The first case was from a sting operation conducted by a YouTube group in October, leading to his arrest on charges of online solicitation of a minor. While out on bond, Martinez allegedly met with a 16-year-old girl in Tarrant County and engaged in sexual activity, with the girl claiming he explained away the ankle monitor by saying he was “tricked” into meeting a girl who lied about her age.

Weatherford Police Chief Jason Hayes commended private sting operations like the one that led to Martinez’s first arrest, while also cautioning that private citizens should coordinate with law enforcement to ensure safety and the integrity of investigations. Martinez is not registered as a sex offender in Texas and has been indicted in Parker County for the first charge out of Weatherford. He remains in Tarrant County Jail on the second charge, with a bond of $500,000.

Police emphasize the importance of community involvement in reporting and preventing crimes against children, urging citizens to communicate with law enforcement when attempting to carry out similar operations. The investigation into Martinez’s actions is ongoing, with authorities working to ensure justice is served in both cases.
