Man from Montana receives prison sentence for sexual abuse

A Montana man named Edmund Davis has been sentenced to 100 years in prison in an unrelated child sex abuse case. Davis had been linked to the case of missing teenager Alicia Navarro, who disappeared from her home in Arizona and was missing for four years. Navarro was living with Davis when she showed up at a police department in Montana and asked to be removed from the missing persons list. Davis pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of children in September after illicit material was found on his electronic devices during a search of his apartment in Havre, Montana.

Davis was identified as Navarro’s boyfriend, but authorities have not indicated whether he was considered a suspect in her disappearance. Navarro disappeared just before her 15th birthday, leaving a handwritten note in her bedroom that she would return home. After years of searching, Navarro walked into the Havre Police Department and identified herself, leading to verification of her identity by Glendale police.

Navarro’s mother had suspected that her daughter may have been abducted by someone she met while online gaming. Navarro had a diagnosis of being “high functioning” on the autism spectrum and required care by an adult. Despite the disappearance, her mother never gave up hope and continued searching through private investigators, social media, and other means. Navarro was found safe, healthy, and happy in Havre, Montana, far from her home in Glendale, Arizona.
