Water Leak Discovered at Frisco Lone Star High School

A water leak at Frisco Lone Star High School caused the evacuation of students and staff after setting off a fire alarm on Friday. The incident resulted in water damage to the downstairs D hall classrooms, prompting students to be relocated to the gym for the remainder of the school day. The cause of the leak is still unknown, but it occurred during a period of freezing temperatures in the area. The Frisco Fire Department, along with school and district staff, worked to contain the leak and assess the damage. Video footage from the school showed standing water in the hallway and water shooting out of the building. The incident comes as many homes and businesses have been dealing with burst pipes due to the recent cold snap. Temperatures in the area finally rose above freezing on Friday afternoon after nearly 70 hours below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Frisco ISD is currently investigating the cause of the water leak as students and staff return to the school to resume classes.
