A Dallas man, 21-year-old Evin Bishop, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her Uptown apartment after chasing her into the building. The incident occurred as the woman was returning to her apartment from her car early in the morning. She noticed Bishop following her and tried to unlock her door before he grabbed her from behind and assaulted her. The attack was captured on the woman’s Ring camera and lasted about nine seconds before Bishop ran off. Police were able to track down Bishop with the help of surveillance video and anonymous tips, leading to his arrest on a charge of sexual assault. It is unclear if Bishop knew the woman or if the attack was random, as well as if he may be connected to other crimes in the area. Bishop is currently being held on a $150,000 bond at the Dallas County Jail. The information for this article comes from the Dallas Police Department, an arrest affidavit, and video footage provided to FOX 4. The incident has raised concerns about safety in the Uptown area, and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
