Kara Bond and Haley Densler, federal employees in North Texas, were fired on Valentine’s Day as part of mass firings by the Trump administration to reduce federal government size. Bond, an archeologist and supervisor in Montana, was devastated as she was about to become a permanent employee. Densler, an EPA employee in Dallas, believes her firing was a mistake as her probationary period had already concluded. Both women received good performance reviews before their terminations. Bond is considering legal action and dealing with the loss of her health insurance. Unions have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration in response to the firings. Despite a judge allowing the firings to move forward, these cases have raised concerns about the impact on federal employees and their livelihoods. Eye On Politics will cover this story further.
