Texas Christian University in Fort Worth is undergoing a major campus expansion, including the revamp of the West Berry Street corridor. The $83 million project will feature two new dormitories with indoor and outdoor spaces, connected by a large dining facility. TCU’s assistant vice chancellor of planning, design, and construction, Jason Soileau, emphasizes the importance of providing facilities that enable students to grow and develop.
The university will demolish some buildings along West Berry to create a new gateway with a park and green space connecting to Fort Worth’s Trinity Trails. Soileau envisions Berry Street becoming a dynamic urban district with housing, retail, and office space. TCU currently has close to 10,000 undergraduate students, and projections suggest enrollment could reach 15,000 by 2033.
Students are excited about the campus expansion, with many seeing it as a way to attract more talent to the university. TCU plans to release more details about the expansion and master plan in the coming weeks. The project reflects the university’s commitment to providing a vibrant and innovative environment for its students.
