The third eaglet of Jackie and Shadow has arrived

Jackie and Shadow, a pair of bald eagles known for their webcam nest in Southern California, welcomed their third eaglet recently. The first two eaglets hatched earlier in the week, with the third emerging from its shell on Saturday. The Friends of Big Bear Valley (FBBV) and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam announced the arrival of the third eaglet on their Facebook page. Viewers watching the webcam feed could see signs of the eaglet moving within the final egg before it hatched. The eaglet was visible early in the morning, joining its siblings in the nest.

The pair of eagles has gained a following online, with viewers eagerly anticipating the arrival of each new eaglet. The eagles had previously welcomed chicks in 2019 and 2022, but had lost eggs in 2023 and 2024. This year’s trio of eaglets has brought excitement to fans, with one follower commenting that “Mother Nature is making up for the last few years of no eggs.”

Jackie and Shadow have become internet favorites, with viewers able to watch Shadow’s arrival in 2018 after he chased off another male. The successful hatching of all three eaglets this year is a cause for celebration, as the pair continues to thrive in their nest in Big Bear Lake Forest. Fans of the eagles can continue to watch them grow and develop on the webcam feed provided by the FBBV and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam.
