Baylor Softball to Host No. 12 Texas Tech in Three-Game Series
Baylor Softball is set to host No. 12 Texas Tech in a three-game conference series at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas. The Bears are looking to bounce back after splitting their last two midweek games. They are coming off a tough series against Kansas where they went 1-2 after a walk-off win in the first game.
With a veteran squad of 12 seniors and 15 upperclassmen, the Bears are eager to build on last year’s success as they return 15 players from the 2024 squad and have added four transfers and seven freshmen to the team. Turiya Coleman leads the team offensively with a .467 average, while Shaylon Govan has a team-leading five home runs.
Head coach Glenn Moore, in his 25th season with the program, is leading the Bears as they face their eighth ranked opponent of the season. Baylor holds a 62-22 lead in the all-time record against Texas Tech, including a 25-13 record in Waco. Last year, Baylor took two out of three games from Texas Tech at Getterman Stadium.
The Bears have faced tough competition this season, playing against seven preseason ranked opponents. Despite facing strong competition, the Bears have shown resilience and determination. With key players leading the charge, Baylor is ready to take on Texas Tech in this important conference series.
