Nearly 50 Rottweilers were rescued from an alleged animal cruelty situation involving a rescue organization in Watauga, Texas. The investigation began on March 1 after a call about a dog injuring an adult at a home. Inside the residence, officials found 47 Rottweilers, as well as other animals, living in unsanitary conditions, with many needing emergency medical attention.
Multiple shelters, including the SPCA of Texas and the Humane Society of North Texas, assisted in removing the animals from the home. The Watauga Police Department is actively investigating the case, and criminal charges may be filed. The property is associated with A Rottie Rescue, which focuses on rescuing critically injured Rottweilers.
While grateful for the help, Fort Worth Animal Care is struggling to accommodate the large number of rescued dogs. They are asking for the community’s support through adoption or fostering of the dogs. The city of Fort Worth is encouraging residents to visit their website to see adoptable dogs and help alleviate the overcrowding at the shelter.
The investigation is ongoing, and the names of those involved have not been released. The disturbing images from the rescue show the dire living conditions of the animals, prompting a call to action from the community to help these neglected Rottweilers find a better life.
