The University of North Texas men’s basketball team has named Daniyal Robinson as its 20th head coach in program history, following the departure of former head coach Ross Hodge. Robinson previously coached at Cleveland State, where he led the team to 65 victories and three consecutive 20+ win seasons, as well as three postseason appearances. Known for his defensive focus, recruiting abilities, and mentorship of young players, Robinson’s track record of success at Cleveland State made him a desirable choice for UNT. Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley praised Robinson’s detailed plan for continued success at the national level and expressed excitement in welcoming him, his wife, and their three children to Denton. With the guidance of experienced coaches and a proven history of achievement, Robinson’s appointment is expected to bring continued success to the UNT men’s basketball program.
