Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently revealed that he owns a T-shirt worn by Jesse Eisenberg in the 2010 film “The Social Network.” The shirt was seen in a scene where Eduardo comes to Zuckerberg’s house in Palo Alto. Zuckerberg shared during a podcast appearance that a friend found the shirt in an auction online, prompting him to purchase it. The iconic T-shirt was listed on PropstoreAuction and fetched a winning bid between $2,000 and $4,000.
Eisenberg portrayed Zuckerberg in the film, alongside Andrew Garfield as Eduardo, and Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker. Despite this connection, Eisenberg has made it clear that he does not want to be associated with Zuckerberg due to the decisions made by the Meta CEO, especially in relation to content review policies on Facebook and Instagram.
Zuckerberg has made changes to the content review policies, replacing fact-checkers with user-generated “community notes.” These changes came after criticism from former President Trump, whom Zuckerberg also controversially supported by attending his inauguration and settling a lawsuit with Meta for $25 million over suspensions from the platforms.
Eisenberg expressed concerns about the amount of wealth amassed by individuals like Zuckerberg and their use of it, particularly in currying favor with those promoting hateful ideologies. The actor emphasized that he does not want to be connected with such beliefs or behaviors.
