Texas and Connecticut secured their spots in the women’s Final Four, joining UCLA and South Carolina in the prestigious tournament. Madison Booker led Texas to their first Final Four appearance since 2003, while Paige Bueckers guided Connecticut to their record 24th Final Four appearance.
In the Texas vs. TCU game, Madison Booker scored 18 points to help the Longhorns secure a 58-47 victory. Rori Harmon added 13 points as Texas used their strong defense to force turnovers and steals, ultimately dominating the game. Kyla Oldacre’s pivotal three-point play in the fourth quarter helped Texas secure the win and advance to the Final Four for the first time in nearly two decades.
On the other hand, Paige Bueckers led Connecticut to a 78-64 victory over USC, scoring 31 points to secure their record 24th Final Four appearance. Freshman Sarah Strong added 22 points and 17 rebounds to contribute to UConn’s win. Despite USC’s efforts to stay in the game, UConn’s strong defense and offensive contributions from Bueckers and Strong proved to be too much for the Trojans.
Both teams will now prepare to face tough competition in the Final Four, with Texas set to face defending champions South Carolina, while Connecticut will take on overall No. 1 seed UCLA. Fans can expect exciting matchups as these teams battle for a spot in the national title game.
