Texas Democrat pledges to introduce Trump impeachment articles in near future

Rep. Al Green, a Democratic lawmaker from Texas, was censured for interrupting President Trump’s joint address to Congress and has vowed to file impeachment articles against Trump within the next 30 days. Green, who was kicked out of Trump’s address, stated at an anti-Trump rally that he will bring articles of impeachment against the President despite the longshot odds of approval in the Republican-controlled Congress.

Trump has been impeached twice during his first term as president, first in 2019 over allegations of pressuring the Ukrainian President to dig up dirt on Joe Biden, and then in 2021 over charges of inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. However, he was ultimately acquitted by the Senate in both cases. Green compared Trump to Goliath and himself to David, vowing to take on the challenge of impeachment.

The White House has not responded to Green’s remarks. Despite facing a tough battle to garner approval for impeachment articles, Green remains determined to hold Trump accountable for his actions. The history of protests and opposition to Trump’s presidency exemplifies Green’s commitment to seeking justice and accountability for the President’s actions.
