Nasib Ahsan, a McKinney man, has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of his pregnant wife, Nawreen Tuli, on Christmas Day in 2023. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis described the crime as a “vicious, premeditated act of domestic violence” and emphasized the importance of holding Ahsan accountable to ensure the safety of other women.
The incident came to light when Ahsan’s uncle called the police, claiming that Ahsan had confessed to killing Tuli. Officers found Tuli deceased in their apartment, with Ahsan admitting to choking her after a fight. Tuli, who was several months pregnant, had previously filed a protective order against Ahsan following an assault a month before the murder.
Family members revealed that Tuli had hoped for a better future with Ahsan despite his history of abuse, as she wanted to have a family. Her niece, Tasneem Kabir, urged others to speak up about domestic violence before it escalates, using her aunt’s tragic story as a lesson.
The Collin County District Attorney’s Office provided the details of the case, and past news coverage helped shed light on the background of the crime. The sentence reflects a commitment to justice for the victim and sends a strong message against domestic violence in the community.
