T Magazine Honors Salone del Mobile in a Historic Milan Oasis

Renowned artist and designer Misha Kahn brought a whimsical and vibrant atmosphere to the Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan with his latest installation for the annual Salone del Mobile design fair kick-off party. Contrasting the rigid architectural style of the villa with colorful and oversized inflatable sculptures, Kahn transformed the space into a playful and surreal wonderland. The inflatables, inspired by lampshades, lightbulbs, and chandeliers, added a festive and unconventional touch to the elegant setting.

Kahn’s unique approach to design is displayed through his surreal furniture pieces and abstract forms, which challenge traditional notions of function and convention. Guests at the event, including prominent figures in the fashion and design industry, enjoyed a warm spring evening with a mix of Italian and Thai cuisine served by acclaimed chef Rose Chalalai Singh. The evening also featured cocktails crafted by the bartenders from the iconic Il Pellicano hotel and decadent sweets from Sant Ambroeus.

As the sun set, the sculptures illuminated by spotlights created a magical ambiance, further enhancing the immersive experience of Kahn’s installation. The event came to a close as guests departed with custom tote bags filled with gifts, including the latest issue of T magazine, a fabric-covered journal, and skincare products for the ultimate pampering experience. Kahn’s imaginative and vibrant creations left a lasting impression on attendees, setting the stage for an exciting week of design festivities in Milan.
