Rapper Tay-K found guilty of murder in Texas for a second time, reported by NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Texas rapper Taymor McIntyre, also known by his stage name Tay-K, has been convicted of murder for the second time after a jury found him guilty of fatally shooting 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar in 2017. McIntyre, best known for his song “The Race,” now faces up to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the killing. This comes on top of a previous 55-year sentence he received for a separate fatal shooting.

Authorities said McIntyre shot Saldivar after attempting to rob him. The incident occurred after McIntyre had asked Saldivar to take photos of him for a new song. McIntyre’s attorneys argued that the police investigation was flawed and relied too heavily on witness statements from individuals in the car at the time of the shooting.

Although the jury found McIntyre not guilty of capital murder, he still faces sentencing in the trial’s punishment phase. McIntyre had previously been convicted in 2019 for the shooting death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker during a home invasion in 2016. “The Race” was recorded by McIntyre while he was on the run from authorities for the home invasion case.

The case has garnered significant attention due to McIntyre’s status as a popular rapper and the circumstances surrounding the murders. It remains to be seen what sentence McIntyre will receive for his crimes.
