Three men, allegedly linked to a Venezuelan gang, have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a North Texas man. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Nilzult Petit, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head on Valley View Lane in Irving. Two children believed to be related to Petit were also found unharmed along I-35E in Lewisville. Four Venezuelan gang members are believed to have kidnapped Petit and the children, ultimately killing Petit and abandoning the children along a highway.
The three arrested suspects have been identified as 38-year-old Ehiker Alexander Morales Mendoza, 25-year-old Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar, and 22-year-old Jhonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez. A fourth suspect, 29-year-old Jhonny Jesus Martinez Serrano, remains at large. The suspects have been charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping.
The investigation revealed that Petit was involved in an ATM theft scheme with the suspects, but failed to pay them as agreed. This led to his abduction and subsequent murder by the gang members. While the suspects are associated with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, detectives believe this particular crime was unrelated to gang activities.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the case to contact the Farmers Branch Police Department. The arrest of the suspects sheds light on the criminal activities of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang involved in organized crime in North Texas and beyond.
